With “Transmissions”, the evenings that Naanu collective are hosting at De Bosbar and on WAV radio, we want to share some of the collaborative practices we have been exploring, and at the same time wish to create a space where vivid exchange of ideas about collective practices can take place.
The second edition of Transmissions focuses on Iran. Iranian members of Naanu, together with other Iranian artists living abroad, set up an initiative to raise financial support for people in Iran, with a focus on independent educational and artistic institutions, as well as independent artists who have lost their jobs and income due to the shutdown of these institutions. These sectors are at immediate risk of disappearing due to war and repression, and without support, the damage could be irreversible. Their intention is for this support not to be temporary, but to continue on a monthly basis for as long as possible, until economic conditions improve.
Naanu collective’s second Transmission event will be entirely focused on helping to raise funds for this important initiative. All proceeds of the food served and of the items sold in our gift shop this evening will go to this initiative. There will be a donation box present, and the fundraiser’s QR-code will be allover the place! So do join us massively, enjoy a varied program of amazing Iranian culture’s expressions, and consume 🙂
