Ghent based restaurant-cum-dancefloor Amigo has invited some of their extended family members to curate a series of mixtapes, dedicated to make you feel just that little bit more hungry. And willing.
As always, no genres or boundaries — just for fun. First up is one of Belgian’s most friendly faces, label boss Red D who has just launched his ‘Red Basics’, an outlet for his own musical creatures.
In his own words:
“My lunch is electronic. That could be the title of a David Cronenburg movie, but it is also how I ended up making this mix. The inspiration is techno, but techno in its broadest sense. A sense that is pretty hard to find nowadays. Techno at heart is about experiment, with a dose of melancholy, a dash of introspection and a the whole range of human emotions thrown into the mix. That is exactly what I wanted to stress here. If you dig this one, let’s have lunch together!”
