1 What was the first sound you remember?

Probably my mother’s voice, can’t be sure.  

2 And the first sound that you recognised as music, never to leave your heart/head again?

My mother singing to me Mario Marini’s ‘La Piu Bella Del Mondo’.

3 What did you want to become as a kid?

Butterfly-ologist. 

4 Who do you look up to and why?

Architects, musicians, writers, visual artists, film directors, cooks … for  giving me beautiful sensory experiences. 

5 Who should play you in the movie about your life?

Lene Lovich

6 What annoys you the most about others?

Violence, rudeness, greed, animal abuse …

7 Choose one superpower if you were a comic book hero?

To turn the enemy into stone with beams coming from my eyes. 

8 What is your trademark joke or trick?

Neither is my speciality.

9 Did video really kill the radio star?

Radio is still alive, but in the current age of omnipresent (digital) screens visual media has more significant role. 

10 Who would be your favourite table guests, dead and/or alive?

Werner Herzog, Amélie Nothomb, Ruth Ozeki, Ayn Rand, Haruki Murakami 

11 Where would you rather be right now?

I am fine to be where I am.

12 How close did you ever come to death?

Very close … 

13 What is the craziest thing you’ve ever seen on the internet?

Some VICE videos. 

14 Do you dance to your own music?

Always!

15 Embrace the today! But what genuinely used to be better back in the days?

Bigger cultural diversity and integrity, globalisation is killing local cultures.

Less pollution and destruction of natural resources. 

House music. 

16 What is your biggest achievement?

That I am still alive and able to do what I like to do.

17 What was your most shameful moment?

18 Are we alone in the universe?

I don’t think so, but if some highly intelligent species from outer space get a chance to meet humans and notice what they’ve done to Earth, they’ll probably destroy them. 

19 Which habit do you want to kick?

None of my habits are very destructive, so there is no need to kick them. I learned to live in harmony with my imperfections
