When I was asked to record a set for Anemoia and was told that the theme was nostalgia for a place you have never been to, I was immediately intrigued. Trance has been my great passion for more than a decade, but in recent years I have also been inspired by other genres. That’s why I thought it would be nice to go back to the period before trance. A period when music was not yet pigeonholed, but music was just music. It didn’t matter what genre it was, as long as it was a musical journey.
I delved into my collection and dug out a lot of records that I hadn’t played in a long time and had never even played most of them outside my home. A selection that reflects the early years of house and techno and together formed the basis for trance.
