On air from 20h till 23h

Twisted Lamentations is an experimental podcast series that looks at the ills of our society through songs about my experiences in the arts. These songs, like many others I wrote, are rooted in rather negative emotions. Partially improvised, I will present songs and thoughts about with them. I will also have a guest who will be talking about their experiences of feeling bad. Can more exchange about emotions be a practice that enables more togetherness, because we all live in a troubled world?

The second part of the evening will be offered by the Brussels based instrumental power folk duo SECTE, consisting of Gregory Duby, guitar (K-Branding, Jesus is My Son, Solah) and David.C, drums (Vitas Guerulaitis, Tat2noisact). SECTE plays melodies from here and abroad, mixed with their own arrangements, as if a Cairo radio station were constantly spitting out its hits from the other side of the ring.

Roger (he/him) and I will be your host. As Roger F. & The Structure, I write and perform self-doubting, often paradoxical protest songs. I am also the founder of The Center of Negativity, a relational space for conversations about difficult emotions.
