Callaz is the artistic moniker of Maria Soromenho. A beguiling and imaginative fusion of experimental electronic pop featuring Callaz’s unique aesthetic sense, informed by her preference for work guided by the DIY philosophy. The songs, at times vulnerable and playful, feature incisive refrains heard in the dancing darkness that her listeners have grown accustomed to. Callaz has played live in Lisbon, Los Angeles, Malmö, Reykjavík, Berlin, Madrid, Brussels and toured New York City performing in venues such as The Bowery Electric and Rockwood Music Hall.
