A special on the 90s skate brand: “the New Deal”. It was a new era in skateboarding were everything changed with technical skating and street skating as we know it today and also a certain fashion that had a big impact on me. Oversized colorfull graffiti inspired t-shirts with outstanding graphics and baggy jeans as you see nowadays. The video “New Deal – WHATEVER” was probably the most copied VHS in my neighborhood. It was around that time I heard rap groups like BDP, Jungle Brothers, Lord Finesse and DR. DRE for the first time… Probably one of the early 90s most influential companies back then.
