1 What was the first sound you remember?
Probably my own screaming for attention.
2 And the first sound that you recognized as music, never to leave your heart/head again?
Maybe not per se my first music, but a major “music” experience that changed my life. A friend and me found a tape on the street, with nothing written on it. No reference at all. We started listening to this tape, and we both became obsessed by this music. It was loud, dirty, strange and utterly hypnotic. We discovered after a month that this was “DOOLITTLE” by THE PIXIES. I never looked back since then!
3 What did you want to become as a kid?
From a pretty young age I wanted to become a fashion designer, and here we are now!
4 Who do you look up to and why?
People who create their own universe without any concession and make this a new reality in which people can find themselves: David Lynch, Rei Kawakubo, Björk, Rick Owens, Sonic Youth, John Waters, My Bloody Valentine, Wes Anderson,…
5 Who should play you in the movie about your life?
Mark Ruffalo
6 What annoys you the most? About others? About yourself?
Ignorance & Entitlement. It annoys me with others, but also with myself.
7 Choose one superpower if you were a comic book hero?
I would love to be able to transport myself to wherever I want to be in a second.
8 Did video really kill the radio star?
I would like to believe they can happily live next to each other.
9 Who are you favorite table guests, dead and/or alive?
Trixie Mattel – Michelle Lamy – Kim Gordon – John Waters and that’s it. I don’t have enough chairs.
10 Where would you rather be right now?
Exactly where I am right now!
11 How close did you ever come to death?
Car crash with 12 year old me on my bike in the pouring rain riding on the wrong side of the road.
12 What is the craziest thing you ever saw on the internet?
The news!
13 How often do you dance? Where and when?
I dance a lot at home!
14 Embrace Today! But what genuinely used to be better back in the days?
An element of surprise and danger. Nowadays you can find everything reviewed, photographed and easily available on the internet. The sense of surprise and discovery is a bit lost.
15 What is your biggest achievement?
To be genuinely happy with where I am today.
16 What was your most shameful moment?
I was in Hong Kong in a spa, naked but a towel around my waist and without glasses. I couldn’t see very well, and without knowing I opened the Emergency Exit. The door fell shut behind me and there I was. Luckily somebody saw it happen and rescued me, but all by all it was pretty shameful.
17 Are we alone in the universe?
No.
18 Which habit do you want to kick?
Staying too much in my comfort zone.
19 What should they play at your funeral?
