► 16h till 17h: Hill Men

Growing up in quite an artistic and musical environment with a figure sculpting mum and a percussion-obsessed father, Jean and Floris Machiels aka Hill Men had a childhood filled with impulses for what was to become their future passion.

Channelling creativity through playing the saxophone or drawing and designing, they grew up with an endless enthusiasm for arts. Hip-hop, soul, funk and jazz played the main role as teenagers, it was clear they became infected with the groove.

The electronic music bug bit them after discovering Antwerp nightlife. Deejaying, hosting events and inviting their favourite artists is what the two brothers have been up to the last few years. With the Antwerp-based concept called Lucid (festival) they are contributing to Antwerp’s music scene.

But first and foremost, collecting vinyl is their true passion. Style or genre is of no matter, and the quality of selection is as impressive as the record collection itself. Their broad musical taste comes from working, discovering and hanging around in Wally’s Groove World. Hill Men’s sets breathe deepness and groove and gets people off their feet every single time.
