This time, Radio Romansa explores the phenomena of plagiarism and covers, remakes of songs by different artists over the Balkans, sometimes inspired by the songs from far away. Performing the same song in so many different ways – sometimes by legally buying the copyrights and sometimes not. The identity of folk, national songs is seasoned by many cultures that passed through these regions in the past centuries. This little research about sharing and stealing a song or a riff brings a fun insight into the folk music industry in the Balkans, as it has been for decades.
