On air from 19h30 until 20h

During the months of July and August, venue Het Bos hosted musical residencies in their great concert room. Every week a new promising talent, every week another exciting outcome. WAV invited the residents at the radio studio to talk about their upcoming residency or, when after the residency, to talk about the experience and listen to the outcome. When the second Covid-19 wave hit Antwerp in August, we had to stop these live radio shows. But we promised to give the artists the attention they deserve later. So here we are, with a look back to that great weird summer of 2020 and its summer residencies at Het Bos!

Tonight we’ll have a talk with WITCH TRAIL and listen to what they cooked up during their Summer week at Het Bos.

WITCH TRAIL

are a three piece band located in Ghent, Belgium. Their latest album, The Sun has Left the Hill (Babylon Doom Cult Records, Consouling Sounds), continues the genre-defying approach found in their earlier releases (Nithera, Thole). The Obelisk, in writing a review of their second appearance on Roadburn, said: “They had a couple hiccups during their set but were my pick for the night, hands down, with a sound that seemed as likely to pique the interest of Fenriz as that of Thurston Moore. Not an easy bridge to cross for most bands.” – The Obelisk, 18/4/18

WITCH TRAIL are Jeffrey Andréka: guitars, vocals Laurens Oostrom: drums, vocals Hendrik Vanhove: bass
