A new monthly series on WAV where we put a spotlight on a WAV host to get to know them a bit better.

Introduce yourself in 3 lines

AE: “DJ and radiohost of the monthly radioshow Anemoia, inviting guests to explore the feeling of nostalgia for a time never experienced. If I’d have to describe my musical preferences, it would be house-driven energy, bass-heavy cuts, and hypnotic rhythms.”

How long have you been doing the show on WAV now?

AE: “The first Anemoia show was on the 16th of March 2023. We are airing our 13th episode in May. As of April the show will be returning monthly instead of bi-monthly, yay! ”

Describe the vibe of the show

AE: “Listening to an Anemoia show is like tuning into a memory you never lived. Past and future blur with melancholic melodies and sentimental grooves. Each episode feels like flipping through old photographs with a soundtrack that hopefully stir some emotions.”

Best setting to listen to the “Anemoia” show

AE: “That’s up to the guest DJ’s interpretation. Some episodes are made for dim lights and dance floors, others for golden-hour hangs with friends or quiet nights at home. It’s a mood-driven journey so you can just tune in wherever nostalgia finds you.”

What makes someone a good radio host in your opinion

AE: “A good radio host keeps things engaging, creating space for discovery both for the listener and the guest. What makes Anemoia special is the way it invites reflection through sound, blending personal nostalgia with musical storytelling. I handpick guest DJs whose vision intrigues me, sometimes nudging them a bit to explore the theme in unexpected ways.”

An album currently on high rotation:

AE: “Shanti Celeste – Romance: only two tracks have been released so far, and I’ve been looping them on and on. The full album release drops May 16th, so I’m very curious to hear the rest of the album. Some of the tracks are co produced by Batu. Think dreamy vocals over joyful house beats, I’m all in for that.”

Impressive people outside of music

AE: “My parents, for my musical education ❤️ ”

Guilty pleasesure

AE: “Like, in what genre are we thinking here? Music, food, TV? There is a LOT.”

Plans for the future

AE: “Anemoia is turning into a club night! The theme will come to life through the line-up and scenography. The first edition is set to land in Brussels. Plans are in motion, and I can’t wait to bring it into the world. More soon :)”
